The basic elements of a live audio system are the original source material (from musical instruments, vocal and instrument microphones, etc.), an audio mixer (or mixing desk) to control and balance the multiple input signals, signal processors to enhance, embellish and again provide greater control over the audio signals, power amplifiers to boost the audio output and loudspeakers to broadast the final result to the audience. Together with optional on-stage monitoring systems plus, of course, all the necessary interconnecting cables and support hardware, that's the basics of the system.

The 'amp' is probably the hardest worked component in the entire audio chain. We demand that it provides perfect sonic performance across the entire frequency range in all sorts of operating conditions and with widely varying levels and quality of input signals outputting to a variety of speaker loads! To combat what is sometimes 'the great unknown' we only specify power amplifiers from key manufacturers who have, over the years, proved that their products sound great and are superbly reliable. Loudspeakers
There are certainly numerous loudspeaker manufacturers out there! There are the average ones, the decent ones and the seriously professional ones. For our premium Live Sound systems, we recommend and specify Community from the USA, dB Technologies from Germany, EAW from the USA and RCF from Italy. Community was founded in 1968 and RCF was founded way back in 1949 so they have a strong, established and respected worldwide reputation within the professional loudspeaker industry. Both companies offer an enormous range of solutions for every pro audio location and application.
