A ceiling mounted high power LCD projectors is the perfect large scale display medium for lessons, presentations, digital signage information display and ‘big screen entertainment. Projector technology is constantly evolving with more and more features or ‘fire power’ being added to the latest models with prices still remaining exceptionally competitive. We supply projectors and screens into two distinct areas – classrooms and school/college halls.
Short throw and ultra short throw projectors are becoming increasingly popular in the classroom environment to keep exposure to the projected light beam to a minimum and reduce shadows on the screen.
For school and college main halls where much higher levels of light output are required, we regularly install high power LCD and DLP projectors.
A ceiling mounted high power LCD projector continues to be the perfect large scale display medium for lessons, presentations or digital signage information display.

SANYO’s founder, the late Toshio Iue, gave the company its name. “SANYO” means “three oceans” – specifically the Pacific, Atlantic and Indian oceans: in other words, the entire world. Their founder had the earnest ambition to conduct business throughout the world, maximizing the company’s three core assets: excellent human resources, superior technologies and first-class service. Thus the company name also implies its business territory and policy.

PROJECTION SCREEN RATIOS EXPLAINED…
The format or shape of the screen can be selected to suit the images you are projecting. As with televisions, monitors and LCD / plasma displays, projection screens come in a variety of different formats. As many have black borders, it is important to select the one that most suits your application. Three standard versions are as follow:
Video Format – 4:3 Ratio
This is a format similar to the traditional television screen in that the width is slightly wider than the height of the image to be viewed. Many computer screens and consequently multimedia projectors are in this format and so it is very popular for commercial applications. All 35mm slide projectors also use this format as standard.
Usually supplied with black borders, widescreen images can be viewed on this type of screen with either white space top and/or bottom or, by just lowering the screen the required amount.
Widescreen Format – 16:9 Ratio
As with the latest television sets, widescreen projection screens are considerably wider than they are high and are ideal for use in home cinema and similar applications. Usually supplied with black borders, other formats can only be viewed by leaving a white space to the left and right of the image.
Square Format – 1:1 Ratio
This is a versatile screen, as it will accommodate all projection formats. However, with the decline in the use of overhead projectors its popularity has also fallen in favour of video 4:3 format screens.
The height of a square screen is the same as the width thereby allowing all projection formats to be shown, albeit with a white space at the bottom and/or top of the picture for video or widescreen images. However, one can just lower the required portion of the screen for a professional presentation of another format. Ideally suited to all forms of projection, including multimedia and 35mm slide, a square screen is best selected if an overhead projector is to be used, thereby allowing OHP transparencies to be shown in either portrait or landscape format.
SIZE MATTERS…
It is not always the largest screen size that is the optimum. If the screen is too big, then the viewers’ eyes have to roam around the image to see the full picture. This can be very tiring, especially when watching a movie or similar. Too small, of course, and the image cannot be seen clearly or in enough detail, especially from the back of the room.
The general rule to be applied is that the screen should be of a width that is half the distance between the screen itself and the front row of the audience. Put another way, the closest people should be twice the width of the screen away.
If the audience is large in number, then it must be possible for those at the back to see the screen and the detail of what is being shown comfortably. Here, the rule is that the screen width should be the total distance divided by six. For example, if the last row of the audience is 9 metres / 30 feet from the screen, then a minimum 150 cm / 5’ width screen should be utilised. You may need to consider positioning those in the front row far enough back dependent on this requirement.
The optimum position for viewing a screen is to position oneself at a distance from the screen, which is four times its width. However, for home cinema applications, to experience the full big-screen experience, one may wish to be closer, say a minimum of 2.5 times the width.
